Home care in Leicestershire
Visiting care and home care in Leicestershire
Leicestershire may be famous for Gary Lineker, Walker’s crisps, and red cheese, but there is so much more to this midlands county. DNA profiling was developed at the University of Leicester in the mid-1980s, Blue Peter editor Biddy Baxter – inventor of the iconic Blue Peter badge – was from Leicester, as is the indispensable stationery item Blu Tac.
Across Leicestershire, we offer exceptional care and support tailored to our customers’ exact requirements. We don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach to home care at Helping Hands, instead we offer a wide range of specialist services on both a visiting and live-in basis that are designed to suit the way you like to spend your days. Whether your needs are complex or straightforward we can help – by supporting you with personal care and household tasks, as well as helping you to enjoy your local community. We even offer nurse-managed packages of care for our customers with complex needs, all overseen by our very own team of clinical leads, and all fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales.

Meet the Leicestershire care team
Regional Clinical Lead
I joined the Helping Hands in May 2021 and I'm loving being part of a strong, cohesive and knowledgable team. I am from a family of nurses and as a teenager my parents owned and ran a Residential Home for the Elderly, in which I had my first job. The standards of care that they gave the residents provided me with a solid focus on how care should be delivered. I am really proud to be part of a team of dedicated carers and indeed all our colleagues, whilst always remaining focussed that the wheel of success would not turn without everyone's valuable contribution. Whilst I love my role, I enjoy a full and active social life with my wonderful Mum, Sons and friends, we enjoy music and dancing and spend many a weekend at music and folk festivals. I love reading, cooking and baking although my cake decorating skills are perhaps not what they used to be. I'm also an animal lover and I share my house with my 3 beautiful cats and upstairs in my office my 2 new rat babies, who can often be spotted sitting on my shoulder whilst I'm working!

High quality home care in Leicestershire
Requiring additional support to manage your daily routine makes some people worry that they’ll have to move out of the home they love and into residential care, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. At Helping Hands, we believe that there’s no place like home, and we make sure that you get to remain living in the home you love for as long as you want to. Our personalised home care in Leicestershire will offer practical physical and emotional support with your daily routine, and your bespoke package of care will be designed entirely around your needs.
24/7 live in care support
Live-in care in Leicestershire is a comprehensive service that involves a carer living in your home around the clock. It is particularly valuable for people who can’t be left alone but who don’t wish to move into residential care and who would prefer constant companionship. We work tirelessly to match you with a carer who shares your interests, meaning you can enjoy lots of conversations over a cup of tea and a piece of your favourite cake. We appreciate that having a stranger coming to live in your home isn’t a decision to be made lightly but we can assure you that they will quickly become a friend who you’ll wonder how you ever lived without.
Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in Leicestershire
We’re not a care agency and never have been – but you may be wondering why that matters. It’s important because it means we’re able to guarantee our service in a way that care agencies can’t. This includes offering a fully managed service on both a visiting and live-in basis that will see carers with you quickly after you first contact us; carers who are employed directly by us and not left to manage their own employment status. Being a private home care company also means that we can guarantee a consistency of care that you just don’t get with franchised outlets either.
Qualified carers providing a variety of care services in Leicestershire
We believe our carers are exceptional at what they do – which is provide the nation’s most compassionate and comprehensive support and make a difference in their customers’ lives. We don’t think that qualifications are essential to be an amazing carer but we offer them just the same, to ensure our carers feel valued and have the opportunity to update their skills in tandem with industry developments. We value our carers’ experience regardless of what walk of life it was gained in, and we build on it thanks to our own in-house training academy.
