How we help you and your family depends entirely on your needs. We offer a choice between visiting care, where a carer comes at intervals according to your schedule, or live-in care which is for those who want more round-the-clock support at home.
We can scale the level of care up or down according to you, making sure that we fit in seamlessly around the daily routines and habits you’ve come to know and love. We are flexible enough to step in with a helping hand any time, whether that’s with household tasks, cleaning, personal grooming, shopping and preparing healthy meals, or simply some good company once in a while.
Respite Care
We understand that not everyone wants to commit to a regular carer, especially if they already have one. However, life doesn’t always go according to plan, and it can be a lifesaver to know that Helping Hands is on call if ever you need someone to fill in for you. The ordinary carer may have some urgent matter to attend to temporarily, they may fall ill, or they may simply need some time on their own for a holiday or a much-needed rest. You can still rest assured, however, that your loved one will be taken care of and that everything will be as it should on their return.
Respite care is also a great idea in the event that you need a little extra support, such as over the holidays or in the weeks after an accident or hospital stay. We can be there to make sure things carry on as normal while you get back on your feet.
Elderly Care
One of the main benefits of receiving care at home is that you are entirely in control, and can maintain as much of your independence and freedom as you like. Our goal is to help seniors feel empowered to carry on living the lives they want to live, whether they need our support for just 30 minutes a week, or need us to check in daily. Our carers work hard to understand you on a personal level, and will do what they can to be flexible when it comes to your familiar routines and preferences.
For Helping Hands, care work is about so much more than just practical assistance. We are at hand to offer overnight care, nurse-supported care and emergency care, but we also know how important it is to offer emotional reassurance, good company, and the occasional shared pot of tea in the kitchen.
Dementia Care
If you are supporting someone living with the many symptoms of a dementia condition, you’ll know that it can be challenging at times, and that needs can change from day to day. Our carers have a special interest in supporting those with memory impairments and conditions like Alzheimer’s. We’ve hand-picked and specially trained our staff to work with patience, flexibility and compassion when it comes to dementia care, and they receive ongoing professional development to ensure they’re offering you and your family care of a quality that we’d use for members of our family.
