Although we don’t necessarily choose those who have previous care experience, what we do look for is an innate quality of compassion, empathy and the ability to put others before oneself; these are traits that can’t be taught and are vital to providing the very best care to our customers. Once chosen, our new recruits undertake a full training programme to ensure they have the skills they need to care for our customers across Ipswich. Modules include personal care, dementia, medication, manual handling, equality and diversity and first aid, and their learning journey doesn’t stop there. Throughout their time with us, they are required to complete regular refresher sessions, so that their knowledge and skills are always as up to date as possible.
