Home care in Hove
Visiting care and home care in Hove
‘Hove, actually’ is historically an ancient fishing village which was granted city status at the turn of the millennium when it merged with Brighton. Home to various war memorials and places of worship which catch the eyes of tourists, Hove is also the home of a Helping Hands branch supplying the area with industry-leading home care.
With a flexible home care plan, you can receive additional support from as little as a 30-minute visit per week all the way up to full-time live-in care, with your package being able to change as your requirements do, leaving you in complete control of your level of care. Regardless of your condition or age, we can provide a companion that is matched to your interests and determined to maintain your safety & wellbeing with minimal compromise on your independence.

Area Care Manager
As an area care manager, I have operational and financial responsibility for the branches in my region. It is my role to lead and motivate my team and to ensure that the care we provide meets the national standards in terms of quality. On a day-to-day basis, my focus is to drive growth in terms of our carer and customer base. In my spare time, I enjoy travelling - generally anywhere with sun and usually have another trip planned before the last one has even ended! When I am at home, I go for long walks and love stopping off for a pub lunch.

Home care Hove
-
As a leading provider of home care, we are renowned for our authority, expertise and caring nature by helping thousands of families across England and Wales to stay safe and well in their own homes. And our Helping Hands team in Hove is no different. The friendly carers and management will arrange a personalised package of care that suits you and your requirements, personalising each element to your needs.
You may just need additional support around your home with domestic duties such as keeping on top of the cleaning, changing the bed sheets and doing the laundry. For these shorter care calls, we can arrange visiting care from as little as 30 minutes per week to help you at home but to also be a friendly face that you can rely upon and have a cup of tea with if you’re feeling lonely.
The great thing about our care plans is that they can be adjusted to suit your needs, which is ideal if you’re living with a health condition such as dementia or Parkinson’s, which has changing symptoms over time. We’ll also only send carers from a small pool who you can build a rapport with and who know your routines, thereby reducing any anxieties about new people coming into your home and providing you with care.

24-hour live-in care support in Hove
-
If you’re living with a loved one and are struggling to provide the right care for them due to their complex health needs, or if you live alone but need round-the-clock support, live-in care may be the ideal solution for you so that you don’t have to move into a care home.
Living with you in your home, a live-in carer will be on hand to provide you with the right care that you need, day or night. They’ll be carefully matched to you in terms of their previous care experience and also their personality, so you and your family can rest assured that your physical and mental wellbeing is all being catered for.
For clinical live-in care needs, we are able to provide nurse-led care overseen by our regional clinicians, who are all registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have extensive experience in the public and private health sectors. Whether you require PEG feeding or support with a stoma, our clinical team will ensure you have care tailored to your requirements so that you can remain living in the comfort of your own home.

Better than a care agency in Hove
-
At Helping Hands, we always put our customers first – that’s what’s made us one of the UK’s foremost homecare companies since our foundation in 1989, but we’ve stayed that way by treating our carers well too; directly employing them, offering pay and perks that beat any other care company, but mainly by listening to them. Because we’re not – and have never been – a care agency; we’re a private homecare company with almost 150 branches across England and Wales, we are able to provide you with a wholly person-centred approach to your care that you just wouldn’t get from traditional care agencies or residential care homes. Most care agencies would take a fee for introducing you to a carer, then leave you to employ and manage your carer day-by-day, when you should be focussing on nothing but receiving your care and living your best life at home. Thankfully, our Hove care team are there to guide you through the entire process of your care delivery from beginning to end, meaning you and your loved ones can be assured that you’re in the best hands from the very start and that our high-quality care will always be consistent.

Fully qualified carers in Hove
-
We are extremely proud of all of our carers, who continuously go above and beyond each day for our customers. We believe that our criteria of selecting individuals based upon their compassion, integrity and kindness is why we have such wonderful carers, as we can train them to have the skills and knowledge to provide care, but those natural qualities are either within someone or not.
Once recruited, they receive our full programme of training, covering manual handling, personal care, first aid, safeguarding, dementia and medication, as well as completing shadowing sessions with existing carers. We also make sure that each and every carer has an up-to-date Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, part of a requirement of our recruitment process before they can progress any further.
We are also regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the governing body for health care in England. They make sure that we are following the industry standards for care by providing a safe, well-led and responsive service to all of our customers in Hove and the rest of the country.
