Hi I'm Amal, the Branch Manager at Helping Hands Hertford. I joined Helping Hands in October 16th 2023. My current responsibilities are to oversee and manage both office and care staff to make sure we are always delivering a safe and high standard of care to our customers. I feel honoured to be part of this branch and work alongside passionate & dynamic team of both office and care staff to support people in our local community whatever their needs may be. My inspiration to join social care is wanting to make a difference to people’s lives and to empower them to reach their full potentials. In my spare time, I like to read, cook and spend time with my family. I have worked in the care industry for twenty-five years. My experiences have helped me to understand and ensure that the service provided to our customers is always safe, effective, responsive, well-led and caring.

Elderly care that enables your freedom
-
Just because you’ve reached a certain age, it doesn’t mean that your independence and hobbies need to change. If you can’t do the things that you used to be able to, elderly or senior care is a great way to retain your freedom whilst being safe in the knowledge that your care needs are catered for.
We’ll pop down to the shops with you, assist you to administer prescribed medications or even help to look after your beloved pet. Whatever you need from us, we can always provide quality care.
-
Respite care for short-term breaks
-
Respite care covers a whole host of different scenarios – from carer-assisted holidays to allow you to have a break, to stepping in for a few days while your regular caregiver takes some time out. And with our expert team from the Hertford branch, we have the experience to start a package of care in as little as 24 hours’ notice, giving you peace of mind that you’ll get the very best support.
The great thing about having a carer accompany you on holiday is that it allows you to take a well-earned trip away, safe in the knowledge that everything is covered. We can even come with you and your family or friends on holiday, allowing all of you to enjoy your time away together.
We can also be there for you if you’re recovering from an injury or operation and need a bit of extra support at home.

Fully-trained carers across Hertford
-
All of our carers complete in-house training that equips them to provide only the very best care. Covering manual handling, medication, safeguarding, first aid and more, training is delivered as part of each carer’s induction, as well as refresher training throughout their Helping Hands career. It’s not just our carers that receive our award-wining training; all of our managers also go through the same program to ensure that all care staff are up-to-date with the latest practice.
In addition to receiving training from our Centre of Excellence, all of our carers go through thorough background checks via the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) and above all, are selected for their compassion, kindness and empathy.
Frequently inspected to comply with regulations set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we ensure every area of our service is of the highest possible quality it can be – from our recruitment and selection process to the care provided to you in your home.
