What does a caregiver do for a cancer patient?
Our carers are trained to support cancer patients living with many forms of the illness.
If you live in certain parts of the UK and require assistance with daily activities, Helping Hands can provide you with the support you need. Our team of skilled nurses and social carers can offer expert medication advice, as well as help with practical tasks like washing and dressing. In addition, if you require overnight nursing care, Helping Hands can arrange for a nurse-trained carer to be there for you, ensuring that you have access to round-the-clock support.
We not only work alongside our customers’ doctors and Macmillan nurses to provide them with the best possible support – including palliative care and end of life care – but endeavour to help family and friends too.
Expert-led cancer care

We can reduce the stress of having treatment by fully supporting you after receiving chemotherapy, radiotherapy or hormonal therapy

Low-grade medical assistance
Our carers can provide low-grade medical support, such as discreetly and respectfully helping with bowel, stoma and catheter care

We can make everyday routines such as bathing, toileting and dressing much more straightforward, helping you to go about your day with dignity
