What’s included with live in care in Chester?

Care at home covers everything from practical tasks around the home such as cleaning, laundry, changing the sheets and preparing meals, to tasks to enable you to be safe and comfortable at home such as personal care, helping you getting in and out of bed, getting dressed and assisting with your medication.

Live-in Care can either be long-term, or on a short-term, respite bases to provide carers with a break or to allow the patient to get used to the care. Helping Hands operate in and around Chester.

As well as the practical tasks, home care also supports your mental wellbeing too. Whether you enjoy a spot of shopping at Cheshire Oaks, a visit to your local café for a slice of cake or someone to have a natter and a cup of tea with in your garden, our carers will be people you can learn to rely on an often become more like friends.

Do you need care?

There are many different reasons why someone may need home care; from an individual living with dementia in their eighties and requiring 24 hour support, to someone in their fifties with a neurological condition and needing more complex care, to providing elderly care to a person in their senior years who just needs help around their home with everyday activities. We understand how different everyone’s situation is, which is why we create bespoke support plans collaboratively with the individual so that all of their needs and preferences are catered to.

Short term care at home

For support that’s little and often, visiting care can seamlessly fit in with your existing routines and provide an additional helping hand around your home. Perhaps you need support with making nutritious, tasty meals or you’re slightly unsteady on your feet and need assistance to mobilise safely in and around your home – that’s where our team of friendly carers can step in. And if you become more anxious during the night-time, we can provide overnight care too.

Intermittent long-term care

If you care for a loved one, it’s really important that you take time out for yourself in order to have a proper rest, both physically and emotionally. With respite care from the Chester team, we can meet with both of you beforehand to ensure that we replicate your existing routine and limit any disruption as much as possible until you’re ready to return.

Immediate start carers

Care needs can sometimes arise without warning and without being able to do any forward planning. If you’ve just been discharged from hospital after an operation or injury or if your regular caregiver has been taken ill, we can swiftly provide emergency care to you in your home so you have everything you need – and to avoid you having to move into residential care – until everything is back to normal.
