Home care in Berkeley
Visiting care and home care in Berkeley
The market town of Berkeley is perhaps most notable for being the site of the purported murder of King Edward II, who was imprisoned at Berkeley Castle. It is also the birthplace of the prominent physician, Edward Jenner, who created the life-saving smallpox vaccine.
All of our home care services are independently regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission and Care Inspectorate Wales, so you can have complete confidence that your care from our team will always be of the very highest standard.
Since 1989, we’ve been providing our customers with nurse-supported assistance, companionship and home care. Having helped tens of thousands of people to continue living independently and comfortably in their own homes, it’s safe to say we’re experts at what we do. As well as Berkeley, we’re also able to support you in: Hamfields, Ham, Wanswell, Bevington, Breadstone, Newport, Sharpness, Stone, and many more locations.

Branch Care Manager
My role is to ensure that high quality person centred care is provided for our customers to fulfil contractual and regulatory requirements and uphold our company's values. I am responsible for the overall running of the branch which includes managing the office team, monitoring compliance with various requirements and working together with internal and external professionals to ensure high quality service. I ensure that our business develops continuously by meeting new customers and assessing their care needs; by recruiting carers to be part of our competent care team; and by providing regular professional support and training opportunities for our office staff and carers. I am passionate about empowering people to be as independent as possible and about providing person centred care as needed in their own homes. I believe our carers are compassionate and competent workers, who go above and beyond to ensure our customers can live safely and happily in their own homes. When I am not at work I love to care for my two teenage children, curl up on the sofa reading a good book or travel and explore new countries and cities. I am originally from Hungary, and passionate about the Hungarian language and culture.

High quality home care in Berkley
Home care can be a valuable source of support for people with a wide range of needs, ranging from the straightforward to the complex. Our home care services are independently regulated and monitored by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which means you can have full confidence that we’re always providing the very highest standard of care.
24/7 live in care support
With live-in care, one of our wonderful carers will live with you in your home in a separate room and provide proactive, round-the-clock support. Live-in care is a great option for those who would benefit from additional help on a constant basis, and is an increasingly popular alternative to moving into residential care. We know that having a stranger come to live with you in your home is a big step to take, so we’ll present you with a selection of carer profiles so that you’re able to pick a live-in carer who matches your personality.
Why Helping Hands is better than a care agency in Berkeley
Because Helping Hands are a private care provider, we’re able to offer a customised, fully managed care service to suit your specific needs and wishes, so that you’re receiving the right type and level of care for your circumstances and condition. Your local care manager in Berkeley will visit you in your home to undertake an initial care assessment with you, where they’ll get to know your needs and preferences in relation to care. From there, they’ll put a care plan in place which provides you with holistic, flexible support and ensures you’re never left feeling isolated or unsupported.
Qualified carers providing home care in Berkeley
At Helping Hands, we’re extremely proud of our wonderful carers who truly are the very best in the industry. We only hire people to our care teams who share our company-wide values of compassion, empathy and dedication to providing exceptional home care, and every applicant must undergo an enhanced-DBS check before they’re able to join us.
Then, when they start with us, all new carers are enrolled on our comprehensive four-day training programme, where they must take modules such as dementia care, moving and handling, medication, health and safety, and more. This initial training is supplemented by ongoing refresher courses, so that every carer’s knowledge and skillset is kept up to date.
