Bespoke Home Care In Beeston
Helping Hands have been supporting thousands of people across the country for over 30 years, and as industry leaders in home care, we really do know what it takes to provide exceptional care and assistance to those who wish to remain living in their own homes.
We’re firm believers that being cared for in your own home is beneficial for both your physical and mental wellbeing, allowing you to choose when and how you receive support so that things are done exactly how you like them. Our friendly team in Beeston will uphold these values, creating a person-centred support plan that fits in with your needs but also takes into account your preferences and existing timetable, too.
With visiting home care, we can call in to see you at a time that suits you – whether that’s a visit once a week or three calls a day in the morning, afternoon and evening. And while we’re there, we can support you with the following:
- Personal care – getting dressed, going to the toilet, washing, shaving and make up
- Medication – gentle reminders or support to administer
- Mobility – assisting you to mobilise safely with or without aids, manual handling, getting in and out of bed
- Housework – cooking, cleaning, laundry, taking out the bins
- Companionship – conversations, company or even taking you out for the afternoon
Live-in care support that's tailored to your needs
Live-in care in Beeston is an ideal solution for those who require more intensive, round-the-clock support or who are perhaps living as a couple and both require some level of care but don’t want to be apart.
It enables you to stay at home, surrounded by the familiarity of your home comforts and possessions, but receive the right care and support that you need to cope with a long-term illness, frailty or additional needs.
Having a live-in carer can really make a difference to your welfare, as it allows you to have someone there as a constant source of reassurance without having to move into residential care. Many of our customers also report how much they value their live-in carer, often referring to them more as a friend or extended member of the family who has made the world of difference to their lives.
Fully trained carers in Beeston
We’re really proud of our carers and the hard work they put in to providing the very best care for our customers. To make sure we only choose the top candidates, we have a thorough assessment and selection process that begins with an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) and character references, continuing with in-house training to provide the practical and theoretical skills they will need out in the community.
Modules include manual handling, first aid, safeguarding, personal care, dementia and medication, which are regularly refreshed throughout their time with us.
As a recognised care provider, we are regulated by industry’s governing body, the Care Quality Commission (CQC). They ensure that we are following strict care guidelines by providing a safe, effective and responsive service, providing full training to our carers and are well led by our management team. Ultimately, they are there to ensure that we follow through on everything we say we are going to do.
Retaining independence with domiciliary care
Domiciliary care, the traditional term for home care, enables you to retain your independence and autonomy by having support little and often when it suits you. Our Beeston team will arrange visits as and when you require them, helping you with preparing meals, running the hoover round and helping you with some light gardening duties if you need support keeping on top of the dead-heading and planting.
You might not necessarily need lots of help with personal care, but domiciliary care can certainly aid you in retaining your quality of life, just with a little helping hand here and there. Our carers can also assist you outside of your home, driving you to doctor or hairdresser appointments, collecting your prescriptions, helping you with the shopping or going for a stroll along the Beeston Marina if the weather is nice.
