“For me, it’s so important that in order to do well in your career, you have to believe in what you do. The staff at Helping Hands are so incredibly passionate and the customers inspire me beyond measure; it really is a lovely company to work for. I feel so lucky to have a job that makes me look forward to coming to work every day.”
Lauren has a Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Journalism, where she provided a catalogue of creative content for Fashion North, a student-based fashion website, and Compellier, an online luxury lifestyle magazine in the north east. For her final major project, Lauren created a print edition of an original fashion, lifestyle and culture magazine. As well as designing and styling original photoshoots, Lauren also conducted interviews with hoteliers and unsigned musical artists and created original features ranging from home interiors to lifestyle tips.
Following on from her degree, Lauren joined an accommodation agency in the events and exhibitions industry where she created online content such as blogs and website copy, as well as print materials including brochures, leaflets and press releases. Each piece of content was unique to different segments within the industry, ranging from small conferences in Leeds to large-scale exhibitions in London to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships.
Lauren has also conducted several personal social media campaigns for two causes very close to her heart. In 2018, she ran her first half marathon where she raised over £1200 for PAPYRUS, a charity dedicated to preventing suicide amongst young adults. Lauren then caught the “running bug” and has since completed another four half marathons in aid of Save9Lives, a campaign founded to support the NHS in encouraging the discussion around organ donation.
In her spare time, Lauren is a trustee for organ donation charity Save9Lives, working alongside other charities and using media and sports challenges to promote the campaign and its message.
