Cost of Multiple Sclerosis Care

How much does Multiple Sclerosis Care Cost?

Multiple Sclerosis care from Helping Hands gives you the opportunity to receive specialist care for your condition without having to leave the comfortable, secure surroundings of your own home.

At Helping Hands, we’ve got over 30 years’ experience in enabling our customers to live more independently and confidently through our dedicated home care. When you choose us as your care partner, we’ll be able to provide you with a fully bespoke multiple sclerosis care plan that is perfectly suited to your needs. We know that living with a complex medical condition can often mean your care needs are constantly changing; our care plans are fully flexible around your circumstances, ensuring you’re always receiving the exact type and level of care that you require.

Multiple sclerosis care from Helping Hands is priced at the same rate as our regular visiting care. When you choose us for convalescent care, you’ll get a package of care that is completely tailored to your personal circumstances and preferences. Your local care experts will be able to provide you with a more specific quote once they’ve had the opportunity to meet you, but here’s a guide to how much our convalescent care costs:

  • Prices for one-to-one personal home care start from £25.27 per hour
  • Prices are flexible across 30, 45 and 60-minute slots
  • Our pricing structure will vary slightly depending on your specific care needs and your location, and overnight, weekend and bank holiday care will also be priced differently
  • To ensure our carers are properly compensated, each visit carries a call-out fee of £4.25
  • For care lasting more than one month, your local care specialist will provide a free home visit to assess your needs, and you’ll receive ongoing support from a dedicated contact to ensure you’re happy with our service

Our live-in care rates vary depending on the level of care required:

  • Starting from £1,650 per week for a single person
  • Starting from £1,650 per week for a couple

Paying for Multiple Sclerosis Care

Because we’re a private care provider, rather than a care agency, we directly employ all our carers. This is beneficial for you because, unlike many agencies, we’re completely upfront about the total cost of your care and we’ll never ask you to pay for any hidden extras or unexpected add-ons.

Most of our customers pay for their care privately, but we do also accept direct payments if you’re eligible for funding. Please feel free to call our care advisers seven days a week for further guidance regarding your funding options.

Possible Funding Options

Assessing your funding options for multiple sclerosis care can be a difficult, confusing process. The sheer amount of information available online regarding care funding can make it difficult to figure out what exactly is relevant to your situation, and what you might be eligible for. Thankfully, our wonderful customer care team are available seven days a week to help you work out whether you might be able to access any funding to help pay for your care. We want to make sure your care journey is as straightforward and stress-free as possible, so please feel free to ask us any questions you may have regarding paying for your care and we’ll do our very best to assist you.

Planning for Multiple Sclerosis Care
