What are our care services in Wigan?

When you first reach out to our Wigan home care team, we’ll take the time to really understand your unique situations, your needs, and your preferences so we can devise a sound care plan that works for you. Our specialty is flexible, tailored care, whether it’s live-in care (for more comprehensive, round-the-clock support) or visiting care. We can send one of our fully trained and experienced professional carers to your home on a schedule that suits you best, from as little as a half hour visit once a week. We can also arrange emergency care or overnight care so there’s one less thing for you to worry about.

What’s included in care is up to you. We can be on call to assist with daily household tasks, mobility, collecting prescriptions or arranging medication, running errands, or even arranging trips out. Whatever you need to help you live the life you want to live at home, our carers are ready to make it happen.

Respite Care

Our Wigan respite carers are there to step in when necessary. Our respite carers are often called out to cover for a carer who has taken ill or who needs to quickly sort out a family emergency. We can have someone sent to your home within 24 hours, so you don’t need to worry about a thing.

Respite care is also an ideal solution for those times the usual carer needs to take well-earned break or a holiday to recharge their batteries. You can trust that everything will run smoothly in your absence, and be in order when you return. We also find that some people seek out respite care for the period after a hospital visit, surgery or accident, so they can focus on getting better while our carers take care of the rest.

Elderly Care

As we get older, normal day to day activities can prove to be a little more challenging, whether that’s because of reduced mobility and strength, or as a result of some kind of health condition. One main benefit of elderly home care is that you can receive the support you need without compromising your sense of independence.

Our carers work around you, so all your old routines and habits remain intact, and you are empowered to carry on with life in the home you love. For Helping Hands carers, their work is truly a calling, and they understand that sometimes what’s most needed is a friendly word of encouragement, a little chat here and there, or simply someone to do the morning crossword with.

Dementia Care

If you have a loved one or family member who is living with the symptoms of dementia, you may have felt anxious about their safety and wellbeing whenever you weren’t able to be present with them. While moving seniors to a residential home care facility is an option, those with dementia can understandably find such a move quite traumatic. In addition, they may not receive the level of attentive, individual care they could receive when a dedicated carer is looking after them at home.

Our dementia carers are skilled, patient and deeply compassionate people who have the experience to manage the daily symptoms of dementia, while happily adjusting to the sometimes unpredictable nature of the condition. Our goal is not just to keep your love done safe and comfortable, but to put your mind at ease, too.

Choosing live in care in Wigan

At Helping Hands, our strength is our carers. We handpick only the most experience, professional and genuine kind-hearted people we trust to share our vision. We never hire agency staff, but employ carers directly, and get to know them well so that we can match them with customers we know they’ll work best with.
