Working as a Carer for Helping Hands Homecare can be very rewarding. You get to meet and work with a lot of wonderful people, both colleagues and clients; you get to help people and make a real difference to somebody’s quality of life and you also get the opportunity to work in and see different parts of the country.
Client Base
The Helping Hands Live-in Care service covers England, Wales, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man; we don’t yet offer our services in Scotland or Ireland. Our Hourly Care service is limited to parts of Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire.
We have clients in city centres, in suburbia, in country villages and more rural settings, even by the seaside. Our Carers all have their own preferences about where they would ideally like to work. Some enjoy the hustle, bustle and convenience of living in the big city, others enjoy the quieter pace and fresh air found in the countryside or at the beach.
Whilst we don’t offer any guarantees, we do try to match Carers with clients in environments where they are the most comfortable. However, we do encourage our Carers to be flexible; this is a great job if you want to experience life in different parts of the country.
Travel Opportunities
One of the many advantages of working with Helping Hands is that our Carers enjoy a week or two break every 5-8 weeks; many of them take the opportunity to get out and see the country, or even get across to Europe, during these breaks.
The advent of cheap flights and high speed rail links has made getting to Paris, Rome or Barcelona all the more achievable, and affordable. In just a few hours you can experience and enjoy a different culture, lifestyle, and even a better climate for a few days or a week during your care package break.
For Carers working near our office in the Midlands area, we have Birmingham Airport with its frequent flights to European destinations, and we are just a couple of hours from the bright lights of London to the south.
