Next Steps

Our recruitment process is quite straightforward, but to avoid any misunderstandings we have created this step by step guide to take you through the simple process that will decide whether you have a future as a Helping Hands Carer.

Step by step guide

Step 1 – Apply online

Complete our simple online application form. We ask for your contact details and some basic questions about your experience, preferences and eligibility to work.

Step 2 – Phone interview set-up

If your application is viewed favourably, we will contact you to set up a convenient time for a telephone interview.

Step 3 – Telephone interview

During the interview we will ask about your experience, why you think you’d like to work in care and for Helping Hands in particular. We will establish your skills, aptitudes and try to gain an insight into your personality. Make sure to read our interview [int: hints and tips]. If you pass the interview, you’ll be asked to come to along to our 5 day induction week training course.

Step 4 – Induction Week

Being invited to induction week does not mean you have got the job. The invitation does suggest that you have the potential to be a good Carer, but you must pass the training week first. Discover more about the induction week in our [int: Training] section.

Step 5 – Placement

Congratulations! If you successfully reach step 5, you are officially a Helping Hands Carer. We will match you with a suitable client, find a placement and you will shadow an experienced Carer for a short period of time before starting off on your own caring career.

So, are you ready to get started? Make sure you’ve read up on the job and have a good understanding of what’s involved; then if you think you’ve got what it takes, complete an [int: online application form].
